Four Mindfulness Approaches: MBCT, MBSR, ACT & DBT
Who is this for?
Mindfulness-based training courses provide rich, research based cognitive and awareness tools shown to result in sustained increases in functioning, productivity and satisfaction. Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) are four modern day approaches, all derived from Mindfulness meditation and philosophy.
This 3 day intensive experiential course is designed to introduce those new to Mindfulness-based applications to each of the Mindfulness-based models and to extend skills for those already familiar with meditation and/or MBCT, MBSR, ACT & DBT. This course is experiential in nature, and incorporates substantial amounts of meditation, investigative dialogue, exercises, demonstration and clinical practice. Participants find it personally rejuvenating as well as professionally inspiring.
Over the 3 days, participants will see the connecting threads and common elements between the four approaches, as well as the significant differences. Participants will learn where, when and with whom elements are best used and develop an understanding of the repertoire they most want to use based on their own strengths and context. There will be opportunities for questions and demonstrations related to particular work contexts.
If you want to become more confident, fluid and informed in the way you understand and apply mindfulness and elements from the mindfulness-based therapeutic approaches with yourself and in your one-on-one and group contexts, you will greatly benefit from attending the MBCT, MBSR, ACT & DBT Integration and Application course.

In essence, those who want to experience, and/or learn to apply Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) would benefit from coming to the Foundation courses.
Those who want to understand all of the Mindfulness-based approaches would benefit from attending the MBCT, MBSR, ACT & DBT Integration and Application course.
Those who want to understand more fully the Buddhist context from which all the Mindfulness programs are derived, would benefit from attending the Cultivating the Heart-mind with Mindfulness course.
Those who want to become teachers of MBCT need to attend the Foundation courses and the Teacher Development Retreat, and would strongly benefit from the other Advanced courses above.
